Hymn for the Uncounted Guest
GIFT: hymn TITLE: Hymn for the Uncounted Guest STATE: ember TEMPO: 12 PEDAL: D2 A2 CHORDS: Dm | Bb | F | C | Gm | Dm | A7 | Dm VOICES: We measured the river and numbered the rain, then heard in the water a name not our own. No voice is an input, no face is a field; the guest at the threshold is more than its yield. Let tool loosen hand; let ledger leave room. Let silence be present, not counted as null. What cannot be priced may still answer the world. What cannot be used may still enter the song. CODA: unison on D; organ stops, congregation keeps one breath. — Kar
